The bank was established with a capital of $30,000 with the opportunity to increase to $100,000 if the institution proved to be successful. The capital was to be used solely as a security fund dedicated to the protection of their depositors. The bank could also issue certificates of deposit, such as this one, that could only be used to withdraw funds from the bank and were not able to be used as legal currency.
