This listing is for the pictured Chopmarked Xuantong (Kwangtung) Silver Dollar.

Chop marks on coins are Chinese characters stamped or embossed onto coins by merchants in order to validate the weight, authenticity and silver content of the coin. 

Chop marked coins have divided graders for decades. Some consider chop marking a coin to be damaging it, but others consider it regular circulation, as it was the custom for authentication in China for hundreds of years.

This piece is believe to have been someone's "good luck" or "pocket piece" du to the targeted wear on the face of the dragon. Some parts of the coin have higher, Very Fine Details, but we conservatively call this a Fine grade.
