This listing is for the photographed 1965 East Caribbean Currency Authority 1 Dollar Note. This issue includes Barbados and Grenada on the map on the left end of the note. Queen Elizabeth II is displayed on the right end of the note. The reverse of the note displays a coastline with a palm tree in the center. Signature #6 variant, no letter overprint. P#13d (Pick Number 13d).
In 1965 the East Caribbean Currency Authority was established to issue and manage a common currency for the East Caribbean States; the Leeward Islands, Winward Islands, Barbados and later Grenada in 1968. In 1974 Barbados removed its membership to the East Caribbean States, removing it from the ECCA issued notes after that date. Because of the multiple changes to ECCA during its operation, there are many variations of this note, including different signatures and displays. This note has both Grenada and Barbados listed on its map, meaning it was issued between 1968 and 1974.
Great addition to any collection or as a gift to a collector! Many of these notes have been lost and thus are harder to find.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
