This listing is for the 1943 1 Lire consecutive serial number Italian banknotes, as pictured. Three notes with consecutive serial numbers, rarer find for notes of this issue. Serial numbers A48624842A, A48624843A, and A48624844. Issued by the Allied Military during Italy's occupation during WW2. These notes have the printed "F" in the bottom right ornament border, differing them from other versions. In holographic writing on the reverse of the note is "Freedom of Speech", "Freedom of Religion", "Freedom from Want", "Freedom from Fear". P#M10a (Pick Number M10a).

In 1943, the invading Allies introduced notes in denominations of L.1, L.2, L.5, L.10, L.50, L.100, L.500 and L.1,000. These were followed in 1944 by a series of Biglietti di Stato for L.1, L.2, L.5 and L.10, which circulated until replaced by coins in the late 1940s. In 1945, the Bank of Italy introduced L.5,000 and L.10,000 notes.
