This listing is for the photographed 1943 British Military Authority 1 Shilling Banknote. Issued during World War II by the British Military. P#M2 (Pick Number M2).
Great addition to any collection or as a gift to a collector! Rarer find for military issued WWII notes.
The British Military Authority started to issue currency during the Second World War to support the economies of occupied countries. They were first introduced in 1942 to Tripolitania, Madagascar, French North Africa, Italy, the Balkans, and Greece. They were paid out to soldiers in these occupied areas and seen as legal tender until the end of the war. Excellent piece of history!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
