UNH was founded and incorporated as a land-grant college in Hanover in 1866. It moved to Durham in 1893 and officially adopted its current name, The University of New Hampshire, in 1923. This explains the significance of the year "1923" on the pin, marking the adoption of the university's current name. This medallion is smaller than a penny but a great collectible item to commemorate the University of New Hampshire and the progress they've made over the years!!!
