Pitt and Arunah were direct descendants of the founders of Hyde Park, VT. Pitt W. Hyde, along with founding the Hydeville village and company with his brother, also served as postmaster of the village in 1846, Rutland County Senator from 1865-66, and Vermont House Representative from 1862-64, 1870, and 1874.
