Depicted on the front of the token is Horatio Viscount Nelson, the Duke of Bronte, a Royal Navy Officer in the British Navy. The back depicts the Battle of Trafalgar, fought during the Napoleonic Wars, where Horatio would lead the British fleet to a daunting victory against a combined force of French and Spanish fleets at Cape Trafalgar located in southwestern Spain. He would die during this battle after taking a fatal wound from a French sniper on his ship, saying to his flag captain Thomas Hardy his last word "Kiss me, Hardy," the words becoming very famous. After his death, the news around England would spread and he became a national hero, as the victory at the battle of Trafalgar would establish the British as a naval superiority in the world.
