This listing is for the 19th Century Letterpress Wooden Shadow Box Wall Frame 147 Pocket Printers Letter Tray. Bring a piece of the 19th-century history into your home with this beautiful, vintage wooden letterpress printer’s tray. This is a classic California Job Case configuration, highly prized by collectors for its iconic layout and incredible craftsmanship. Adding to its rich history, the outer side edge is labeled with "Engraver Roman 6pt." This indicates it once housed an incredibly tiny, elegant 6-point Roman typeface used for high-end stationery and invitations. Because the original metal type was so miniscule, this tray features an impressive count of 147 tight, small compartments making it far more detailed and visually striking than standard printer trays with fewer dividers. While this tray spent its first life in a bustling print shop, it is perfectly suited today to be used as a statement wall shelf or shadow box for small treasures. Interesting Find!!
