This listing is for the photographed 1913 Republic of Argentina 10 Centavos - VF Condition.

In 1881, Argentina passed Law No. 1,130, creating a national monetary system based on the peso oro and peso plata. The law specified that the silver coins would be struck in 900-fine silver, and specifically established the 10-centavos denomination at 5 grams. It also required the coins to carry the national identification and an allegorical representation of Liberty. The obverse shows Liberty wearing the Phrygian cap, surrounded by “REPUBLICA ARGENTINA” and the date 1913. The reverse has 10 CENTAVOS inside a laurel wreath.
