This listing is for the photographed 1918 Bernburg 50 Pfennig German Emergency Notgeld. Issued by the Municipality of Bernburg, Germany during WWI. Dated Novermber 20th, 1918, with a later expiration date of July 1st, 1919. The letter "J" in the month "Juli" (July) printed on the note is the longer font variety, differentiating it from the shorter font type. Uncirculated (UNC) grade/condition, crisp note! Notgeld was a form of emergency currency that was issued by individual German municipalities or institutions immediately after the First World War when Germany was experiencing a severe economic depression.
