This listing is for one 1943A 10 Lire Italian Banknote, as pictured. Issued by the Allied military while Italy was under occupation in WWII. These notes have the prefix-suffix A-A, differing them from other issues. Varied grades/conditions from Extremely Fine to Fine. In holographic writing on the reverse of the note is "Freedom of Speech", "Freedom of Religion", "Freedom from Fear", "Freedom from Fear". Great Piece of history! P#M19a (Pick Number M19a).

In 1943, the invading Allies introduced notes in denominations of L.1, L.2, L.5, L.10, L.50, L.100, L.500 and L.1,000. These were followed in 1944 by a series of Biglietti di Stato for L.1, L.2, L.5 and L.10, which circulated until replaced by coins in the late 1940s. In 1945, the Bank of Italy introduced L.5,000 and L.10,000 notes.
