This listing is for the 1926 Warren G Harding Memorial Silver-Toned Medallion. President Warren G. Harding died suddenly in office in August 1923. Following his death, the Harding Memorial Association raised money to build an elaborate marble monument and tomb in his hometown of Marion. This medal was explicitly struck to mark the official groundbreaking ceremony when the cornerstone was laid on May 30, 1926.
