This listing is for the photographed Vintage Order of Odd Fellows Past Grand Gold Toned Tie Clip. This tie clip was made for the member of the fraternal order of Odd Fellows that held the position of Past Grand, one of the higher roles within the order. The charm on this tie clip reads "FLT" along the upper section of the enamel, which represents the orders motto of "Friendship, Love, and Truth".
The first orders of Odd Fellows originated in 18th century England as a popular Fraternal Order. The first U.S. branch of this order was founded in 1819 in Baltimore. The purpose of the fraternal order was to "Visit the sick, relieve the distressed, bury the dead, educate the orphan".
Incredibly interesting and well-preserved piece!
Thanks for stopping by!
