  4. Additionally, this token has a minor planchet error distantly visible on the top portion of the token. 

Only one type of official coin, the one-cent piece, was struck for the Prince Edward Island in 1871. PEI entered Confederation two years later. Prior to 1871, various types of currency were used, including these tokens.
