This listing is for a 1898 Elongated/Flattened Indian Head Penny.  To elongate coins, they are created by passing a coin through a rolling mill, which stretches the metal and alters the shape. Indian Head pennies were flattened primarily to be used as "nickels" for payphone currency. The flattened coins could then be inserted and read as a nickel. Great find!
