This listing is for the photographed 1947 N.D. Martinique 50 Francs African Colony Bank Note. Issued in Martinique in 1947 by the Central Bank of Overseas France (Caisse Centrale de la France d'Outre-Mer). The obverse of this note depicts a portrait of Belain d'Esnambuc on the left end and a sailing ship on the right end. The reverse shows a Native woman on the left end. Extremely Fine (XF) grade/condition, minimal signs of circulation, crisp note! This rare note has a stunning design and is in excellent condition, making it a must have for any collection! The Central Bank of Overseas France was established by the newly liberated France on February 2nd, 1944, to finance economic and social development in French colonies, particularly those in Africa.
