This listing is for the photographed set of 1687, 1,2,3 and 4 Pence Coins. Some of these coins still have visible luster, and appear to have little to no wear.

James sat the throne in 1685 and reigned for only three years, after which he was deposed during the 'Glorious Revolution' in 1688.
The small denominations were also used as Maundy money which was first given as arms for the poor in lieu of food and clothing and was given by the monarch's official; the recipient then got this every year for life. Later, it was suggested that the monarch themselves gave out these coins. Nowadays, the coinage is given for good works in the community and recipients are chosen every year. The denominations are in 4, 3, 2 and 1 penny pieces and are given to the value of the monarch's age in pennies.
