Very fragile softcover, worn from use. Most other circulated copies of this book are later issues, making this one a rarer find. Cover depicts a numbered diagram of a horse, with explanations on each figure on the second page. The back cover portrays a drawing of the "New Laboratory and Manufactory of Dr. B. J. Kendall Co., Enosburg Falls, VT". A unique find and great piece of history.
Dr. B. J. Kendall became famous for his treatments for horse ailments, which were in necessity when he opened his company to manufacture treatments in 1880. The company also published treatises such as this one to give people a greater understanding of their equines. Dr. B. J. Kendall became well-known nationwide for his "Kendall's Spavin Cure" which was the company's primary manufactured good. The company closed in 1957 as a result of the growing use of automobiles instead of horses for transportation.
This is one of the older published versions of this book, being over 110 years old! This rarer find makes for a great gift for any collector!
