1998 Error Penny Ragged Clipped Planchet - Ragged Clip Planchet Error 1998 Lincoln Penny

This listing is for the 1998 Error Penny Ragged Clipped Planchet. A coin with a ragged clip has its circular outline interrupted by a very irregular edge.  Ragged clips are traditionally thought to be derived from the unfinished leading or trailing end of the coin metal strip.  While these ends are supposed to be trimmed, this step can be accidentally skipped. This specific ragged-clip penny is displayed on the top of the obverse, affecting the 'we' by removing the W, whilst the reverse has minor distortion on the one cent, on the reverse distorting the e in one.
