This listing is for one 1942 D Wheat Penny, as pictured. VF/XF coindition.

The Lincoln cent has been struck by the United States Mint since 1909. The obverse or heads side was designed by Victor David Brenner, as was the original reverse, depicting two stalks of wheat (thus "wheat pennies", struck 1909–1958). 1941 was the earlier part of WWII, and the mint would soon need to switch to steel for the production of US cents to support the war effort.

This wheat penny turns 79 years old this year (2021). Could make a cool gift for someone's 79th birthday.

A semi-key date, this coin makes an excellent addition to any collection; a piece of history. As can be seen in the pictures, the coin is in great shape. XF Grade.
