This listing is for the photographed 1986 Central Bank of Barbados 10 Dollar Note. This issue was signed by Kurleigh Dennis King, differentiating it from other issues. Portrait of Charles Duncan O'Neal is displayed on the right end of obverse of the note, a trident and flying fish under printed at center. The reverse of the note shows Trafalgar Square in Bridgetown. Extremely Fine (XF) grade/condition, minor visible signs of circulation, crisp note! P#35a (Pick Number 35a). Great addition to any collection!

Barbados gained independence from Britain on 30 November 1966. At the time, the island was still part of the Eastern Caribbean Currency Authority, which issued the East Caribbean dollar for several British Caribbean territories. Barbados used these notes until it chose to establish its own currency. In 1972, Barbados formally withdrew from the Eastern Caribbean Currency Authority and created the Central Bank of Barbados, founded in 1972 to oversee monetary policy and currency issuance. This first series of banknotes issued in 1973 featured several portraits of national heroes and scenes to show national pride.
