Struck in 1.5oz pure silver was George T. Morgan's proposed design for a $100 Gold "Union" coin. While never realized as currency, this beautiful design lives on in this modern strike.
Lady Liberty is featured seated on the reverse, dressed in a beautiful period gown and cap, holding an olive branch and scepter, with images of wheat stalks and a ship coming into port beside her, symbolic of commerce. The image is framed by thirteen stars and the inscriptions "LIBERTY" and "1876."
