Antique 32" German Handwreck Bisque Doll - Rare 32 Inch Large German Doll

This listing is for the Antique 32" German Handwreck Bisque Doll. Heinrich and Minna Handwerck dolls were produced in Waltershausen, Thüringia, Germany, beginning in 1876 or 1885 until they were purchased by Kammer & Reinhardt in 1902 after Heinrich Sr. passed away at the young age of 44. The Handwerck factory continued independently of K & R. Heinrich Sr. invented and patented in the 1880’s a machine to produce doll body parts; this meant quicker and larger quantities could be produced. This doll is over 120 years of age and shows some minor cracking in the wood jointed body seen throughout. We cannot visibly see hairline cracking because her head is filled with wood and her hair is glued to her head, but externally, there isn't any visible hairline cracking. The jointed bodies with hollow limbs have threaded heavy-duty elastic through the body to allow movement, but the internal elastic cord is worn, and her extremities dangle and don't stay fixed in place. She comes with the height chair she is pictured with, and it's recommended she sits there because it keeps her in position nicely. She has the functional iconic sleepy eyes, which close when lying down and open when she's sitting up; they are dark chocolate brown colored glass eyes. She has thickly drawn, finely shaded eyebrows and subtle wispy bottom and top eyelashes. Her cheeks feature a rosy hue alongside her lips. This doll's hairstyle is NOT her original style. She arrived with us matted and tangled, and we detangled and put her hair in braids to ensure it won't get retangled in transit. We added earrings to her, but the bracelet and her outfit all arrived to us as is. Unique Find!!
