This listing is for the photographed 1921 Lenzen Elbe 50 and 75 Pfennig German Emergency Notgeld Set of 4. Issued by the Municipality of Lenzen Elbe, Germany in the years following World War I. Includes four notes, three 50 pfennig notes that create a complete set with varied reverse designs, and an additional 75 pfennig note from the same issue. The reverse of each note depicts a different scene representing an aspect of farming and agriculture. Uncirculated (UNC) grade/condition, crisp notes! Notgeld was a form of emergency currency that was issued by individual German municipalities or institutions immediately after the First World War when Germany was experiencing a severe economic depression.
