This listing is for one of the photographed 1943 Allied Military 50 Lire Italian Banknote. This note was part of the first series of banknotes issued by the Allied Military during World War II. Larger denomination notes such as this note are rarer finds for Allied Military issued notes, making this a rarer find! In holographic writing on the reverse of the note is "Freedom of Speech", "Freedom of Religion", "Freedom from Want", "Freedom from Fear". Almost Uncirculated (AU) grade/condition, little to no signs of circulation, crisp note! P#M14a (Pick Number M14a). Great, rarer note in excellent condition! Perfect addition to any collection!

In 1943, the invading Allies introduced notes in denominations of L.1, L.2, L.5, L.10, L.50, L.100, L.500 and L.1,000. These were followed in 1944 by a series of Biglietti di Stato for L.1, L.2, L.5 and L.10, which circulated until replaced by coins in the late 1940s. In 1945, the Bank of Italy introduced L.5,000 and L.10,000 notes.
