This listing is for the photographed 1992 Banco de Espana 1000 Pesetas Banknote. Issued on October 12th, 1992, in Madrid. This note was of the first issued for this series, as identified by the light-colored shading on the first ruff of the collar on the obverse portrait, as other later issues featured darker shading. Obverse of this note depicts a portrait of the conqueror Hernan Cortes on the right end, an Aztec design and map of the Americas at the center, and a compass rose to the left. The reverse side of this note shows a vertically printed portrait of the conqueror Francisco Pizarro at the center, a helmet and sword in the top right corner, and the Lima Cathedral at the bottom right. Uncirculated (UNC) grade/condition, no signs of circulation, crisp note! Great piece of history and an excellent addition to any collection. P#163a.1 (Pick Number 163a.1).
