This listing is for the photographed Authentic Signed Delft Porcelain Sterling Silver Windmill Ornate Bracelet. Total bracelet measures 7 inches in length. Signed "Delft" on the reverse of the inserted porcelain. Beautiful ornate sterling silver floral designs around the designed delft porcelain inlays. Porcelain charms have the signature Delft windmills painted in blue, alluding to the company's history in the Netherlands. Excellent authentic vintage sterling piece from a company with an extremely interesting history! Must have for any jewelry collection!
Dutch "Delft" Porcelain, with its signature white and blue painted designs, originated in the city of Delft, Netherlands, in the 17th century. A symbol of the city and a popular souvenir, blue and white Delft porcelain is embodied in jewelry. Delft Jewelry, typically the placement of the famous delft porcelain inside of a sterling silver filigree designs originated towards the end of the 19th century in Delft and surrounding Dutch cities. After World War II, the production of Delft Porcelain in jewelry experienced a boom in popularity as a result of an increase in tourism to the Netherlands during this time. Incredibly interesting history behind this piece!
