This is a unique note because of its large size compared to other issued notgeld from this period. The reverse of this note shows an archer shooting an arrow from the shoreline. Notgeld was a form of emergency currency that was issued by individual German municipalities or institutions immediately after the First World War when Germany was experiencing a severe economic depression.
