This listing is for the photographed 1983 (ND) Isle of Man Government 1 Pound Banknote. Issued without a printed date. Commonly known as "The Plastic Pound" amongst collectors, further explained below. The obverse of this note shows a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the right end, and the Isle of Man coat of arms at the center. The reverse displays a view of Tynwald Hill at the center. Uncirculated (UNC) grade/condition, no signs of circulation, crisp note! Rare, short-lived note with an interesting history! Absolute must have for any collection! P#38 (Pick Number 38).

The Isle of Man "Plastic Pound" note is valuable among collectors because it is the only note printed on plastic within the British Isles! The note was considered revolutionary for the time because of its unique use of plastic rather than paper or the more flexible, paper-like polymer materials. The note was short-lived in its issuance, being replaced only 4 years after its introduction for a similar paper version.
