The obverse of this token depicts three conjoined male heads, being the founders: Russell, Major, and Waddell. The reverse of this token depicts the famous Hanson Pont Express horse and rider. This medal was authorized by Congress as a "National Medal' designed by Julian Arthur Links at the US Mint, Philadelphia.
