Production was halted in 1938 because the coin's large size made it bulky and unpopular for daily circulation. 1,008,000 Australian Crowns were minted in 1937 and 101,600 were minted in 1938.  The obverse depicts a portrait of King George VI facing left and the reverse is Queen Victoria’s Diamond Crown above date and value.
