This listing is for the photographed Vintage 1950s Florenza Gold Toned Red Topaz and Pearl Floral Dome Costume Ring. Size 6.5. Some minor wear and tarnish, as pictured. One red gemstone missing from the outer edge, as pictured. Intricately designed floral gold toned design with bright red topaz gemstones and a pearl crown at the center. Signed "Florenza" on the back of the ring. Large costume dome ring, a popular style for the time. Made by a well-known and reputable company from the 1950s costume jewelry scene. High end vintage costume ring.

The Florenza company began manufacturing their own jewelry in 1950, selling via wholesale to retailers across the US. The name did not come from the Italian city, rather it was an embellishment of the owner, Dan Kassoff's, mothers name, Florence. The company also designed jewelry for high end companies like Estee Lauder and Revlon. Florenza made and signed jewelry was widely sold in high-end department stores such as Bloomingdales and Lord + Taylor. All of their pieces were made with the highest quality care, with most of their stones coming from Austria, Germany and beyond. The company had to close in 1981 when current CEO and son of the founder, Larry Kassoff was in a near fatal car crash, never reopening after his recovery.
