Launched by the city to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the American Revolution, Boston 200 was one of the most elaborate Bicentennial programs in the United States. The "flower" dangle is the official Boston 200 logo, designed specifically for the city’s Bicentennial festivities. It was used on everything from city banners to high-end sterling silver souvenirs like this one. The building depicted is Faneuil Hall, a site of pivotal protests and meetings leading up to American independence. It was a primary stop on the Freedom Trail, which saw record-breaking tourism during the 1976 celebrations.
