This listing is for the photographed 1942 Japan Occupied Philippines Centavos Fractional Set of 3 Banknotes. The set includes one 1-, 5, and 10- centavos fractional note from the first issue of occupied Philippines banknotes in 1942. Notes were all issued with 2 block letters printed on the obverse, rather than the fractional format of block letters seen on similar notes. All of the notes are in circulated condition. Great piece of history, a must have for any collection! P#102a P#103a, P#104a (Pick Number 102a, 103a, 104a).

During World War II in the Philippines, the occupying Japanese government issued a fiat currency in several denominations; this is known as the Japanese government-issued Philippine peso. The Japanese government outlawed possession of guerrilla currency, and declared a monopoly on the issuance of money, so that anyone found to possess guerrilla notes could be arrested or even executed.
