The Bank of Mexico, known as "Banco de México" (Banxico), was established on September 1, 1925, in the aftermath of the Mexican Revolution. This revolutionary period highlighted the need for a central institution to stabilize and support Mexico’s financial system. At the time, multiple banks issued currency, which led to confusion, inflation, and lack of confidence in the nation's currency. Banxico’s creation centralized the issuance of banknotes, aiming to stabilize the economy and reinforce public trust.
Banxico issued its first official banknotes in 1925. These notes reflected the nation's wealth and history, and the designs were updated regularly to emphasize both modern achievements and traditional Mexican culture. The first series of banknotes featured prominent Mexican leaders and symbols of national pride.
This note represents the incredibly interesting history of the Bank of Mexico and the aftermath of the Mexican Revolution! Great condition and a must have for any collection!
