The front of the cufflinks portrays a faux Cameo, Greek Wedgewood design, popular through the 60s and 70s! They are in excellent condition, with some wear on the gold-toned metal sections of one of the pieces, as pictured, but should be able to be cleaned and brought to its original luster. Must have for anyone who collects vintage men's jewelry and metal pieces!
The company Swank began manufacturing costume jewelry in 1897 under the name Attleboro Manufacturing Company in Attleboro, Massachusetts. They began making men's pieces, such as their signature cufflinks, in 1908, focusing solely on men's pieces shortly after World War I onwards. Their most notable pieces are their vast catalog of men's cufflinks. The company changed their name to Swank Products, Inc. when they first experienced a boost of popularity in the manufacturing of cufflinks in 1936. In the 1950s the company began taking over other men's accessory companies, becoming one of the most prominent manufacturers of men's pieces during that period. In the 1980s the company reintroduced the manufacturing of women's jewelry pieces under the name Anne Klein. The company still operates today as a men's accessory manufacturing company, designing for a large selection of designer companies such as Tommy Hilfinger, Guess, and Nautica.
