This listing is for the photographed 1967 Peru Un Sol De Oro. The 1967 1 Sol coin represents a period in Peruvian history where the country was using a sol de oro currency. This coin is part of a series of circulation coins issued between 1966 and 1975. It was made of brass. The specific 1967 error coin with the signature "PAREJA" on the obverse below the coat of arms is a business (MS) strike. The sol de oro was the national currency from 1863 until the 1980s, when it faced a major devaluation. The sol was later replaced by the Peruvian inti, which was in turn replaced by the nuevo sol (now simply sol) in 1991.
