An off-center strike coin is created when a blank planchet is improperly positioned between the hammer and anvil dies during the striking process, causing it to be struck outside of the retaining collar. This mechanical error results in a coin with a partial design and a blank crescent shape, often caused by feeding failures in the press. This specific off-center penny has no visible dates and is estimated to be about 95% off center. Great Find!
