This listing is for the photographed 1921 National Bank of Copenhagen Denmark 1 Krone Banknote. Issued shortly after World War 1 in an effort to aid the country's post-war economy. Note was issued with the Prefix AE, differentiating it from other issues. Very Good/ Fine (VG/F) grade / condition, fragile due to age and wear with several pinholes showing its issuance. Excellent piece of history! P#12f (Pick Number 12f).
After World War 1, many countries began to issue forms of emergency currency in an attempt to stabilize their post-war economies. This, however, was not the case with Denmark. Although the country experienced economic downfall as a result of the world war, they did not need to issue emergency currency in order to stabilize their economy like other European nations. This banknote, issued by one of the national banks, shows Denmark's ability to remain economically stable in a time of extreme global economic upheaval. Great piece of history and a must have for any collection!
