This listing is for the photographed 1863 The State of Georgia 25 Cents Obsolete Banknote. Milledgeville Issue. Printed date of January 1st, 1863, issued by the Confederacy in Georgia during the Civil War. The note features a dark green treasury seal stamped on the obverse. The obverse of this note features a vignette of three working men at the center. Very Fine (VF) grade/condition, some visible folds and other signs of circulation. Great addition to any collection! Interesting piece of history!

Obsolete bank notes are also called "broken bank notes." In the days prior to the Federal Reserve, any bank could produce currency for use by the clients and members of the community.
