This listing is for the 1929 Great Britain One Penny Major Vertical Lamination Error. This 1929 British One Penny represents a captivating find for error collectors, featuring a prominent vertical lamination flaw that runs directly through the center of the seated Britannia. Struck in bronze during the reign of King George V, this genuine minting error was caused by impurities in the metal planchet, resulting in a visible separation and "peeling" of the surface layers. The lamination strip is remarkably distinct, extending from the upper rim down through Britannia’s torso, yet it allows the underlying design elements of her gown and shield to remain visible. Despite this significant planchet flaw, the coin retains strong strike details in the high points of the helmet and hair. Interesting Find!
