This listing is for the photographed Antique 1968 Old City of Jerusalem Plaque. Beautiful piece of history encased in bronze with a red plush matting with a walnut frame and golden inner edge. Item depicts the old city of Jerusalem before 1948 where in the Arab-Israeli War of 1948 the ancient Jewish quarter was surrendered to the Arab Legion of Jordans forces where they would destroy much of the quarter to prevent Jewish return, including destroying and desecrating synagogues. In 1967, after Israel won the Six Day War, they were able to retake, reconstruct, and reinhabit the territory.
