The banknote was used in the Municipality of Gries am Brenner immediately following World War I as inflation raged through the defeated nation. Most other Austrian localities followed suit, resulting in many varied and specific Austrian "notgeld" from this time. This note was issued on October 15th, 1920. It features a map of the municipality with a red heart at the center, printed in a woodcut style. The note was made with thicker cardboard paper rather than the thinner paper typically used, making this a rarer note! Uncirculated (UNC) grade/condition, crisp note!
