This listing is for the photographed 1945 Japanese Allied Military 10 Yen Note. Issued by the Allied Military in Japan towards the end of WWII. Note is an "B Yen", differentiating them from other similarly issued notes. A-A serial number block. Almost Uncirculated (AU) grade/condition, little to no visible folds or signs of circulation. Better condition for circulated notes of this date and type. P#71 (Pick Number 71).

Allied Military Currency was issued in newly occupied lands of the Allies during WWII in order to gain monetary control. The Allies issued both "A Yen" and "B Yen" in Japan and surrounding areas as a part of this effort. "A Yen" was restricted for military use only, whereas "B Yen" was used by local civilians. "A Yen" was only circulated from 1945-1948, but "B Yen" was circulated until 1958 when the currency was replaced with the U.S. dollar.

These notes provide fascinating insight into the economic dealings of world powers in World War II, and being of rarer find, are a must have for any collection!
