This listing is for the photographed 1945 Japanese 100 Yen Allied Military Banknote. Issued by the Allied Forces in Japan during World War II. B Yen, issued and used by local civilians during the war. Choice Very Fine (VF+) grade/condition, some folds and other signs of circulation. P#75 (Pick Number 75). Excellent note and an interesting piece of history! Must have for any collection!

Allied Military Currency was issued in newly occupied lands of the Allies during WWII in order to gain monetary control. The Allies issued both "A Yen" and "B Yen" in Japan and surrounding areas as a part of this effort. "A Yen" was restricted for military use only, whereas "B Yen" was used by local civilians. "A Yen" was only circulated from 1945-1948, but "B Yen" was circulated until 1958 when the currency was replaced with the U.S. dollar.
