This rare 1989 Mexico 1000 Pesos "Juana de Asbaje" coin is a standout addition for any serious numismatist, featuring a significant 15% off-center strike mint error. Struck in an aluminum-bronze alloy, this piece displays a clear crescent-shaped blank area where the planchet was misaligned during the striking process, shifting the iconic portrait of poet Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz and the surrounding legends. Unlike common misaligned dies, this authentic off-center error shows a uniform shift on both the obverse and reverse, making it a highly desirable "eye-appeal" error from the pre-revaluation era of Mexican currency.
