Breakell & Co. is a renowned jewelry brand celebrated for its handcrafted sterling silver and 14K gold designs. When Jim developed vision problems in 1980, his wife Joan took over jewelry design and 3D wax modeling, infusing the brand with its signature maritime and nature-inspired themes. The company gained national popularity in the mid-1980s through mail-order catalogs and became famous among collectors for annual traditions. Acquired by David and Susan Medeiros in 2017, the brand continues to create highly collectible pieces using centuries-old silversmithing techniques at its historic Brick Market workshop in Newport.
