Antique French Counter Token. Quite old! Made in 1724, but not stamped with the date.
The obverse (front) shows Louis XV, and the reverse: Arms of Artois supported by a lion and a dogfish.
Reverse Lettering: COMITIA ARTESIAE
Engraver: Jean Duvivier (a French medallist, who was appointed official medallist to King Louis XV)
This token was made when Louis the VX (nicknamed Louis the Beloved) was only 14 years old.
