This listing is for one 1943 10 Lire Italian bank note, as pictured. First issue by the Allied military while Italy was under occupation in WWII. These notes slightly differ in design from the 1943A series, they are also rarer to find. Some creases and signs of circulation, fine grade. In holographic writing on the reverse of the note is "Freedom of Speech", "Freedom of Religion", "Freedom from Fear", "Freedom from Fear". This rarer issued note and great piece of history would make for an excellent addition to any collection! P#M13a (Pick Number M13a).

In 1943, the invading Allies introduced notes in denominations of L.1, L.2, L.5, L.10, L.50, L.100, L.500 and L.1,000. These were followed in 1944 by a series of Biglietti di Stato for L.1, L.2, L.5 and L.10, which circulated until replaced by coins in the late 1940s. In 1945, the Bank of Italy introduced L.5,000 and L.10,000 notes.
